Perfect Wiring A Triple Switch
Connect all the grounding conductors.
Wiring a triple switch. Gently push the wires into the switchbox and secure the switch to the box. The triple switch is convenient because it only requires a single gang box instead of a triple gang box. Connect the wires to the new 3 way switches with ground screws using one of the two wiring diagrams fig.
This is the 3 wire cable which you must have to wire a 3 way light switch. Connect the ungrounded hot conductor from the vanity to the switch. Connect the other ungrounded hot conductors from the light fan to the switch.
The switches are mounted one above the other and the switch activates by moving the button horizontally instead of vertically. Here a receptacle outlet is controlled with a single pole switch. The 14 3 cable has three insulated conductors.
A double gang switch is also available. When you are wiring a triple switch most switches will have one dark colored screw and three light colored screws. Use a wire nut to connect the three wires pigtails to the hot wire.
If there is only one power source that will power the separately controlled lights or devices then the single power feed wire attaches. White black and red plus a bare ground wire. Feed a length of 14 3 type nm cable or 12 3 if you re connecting to 12 gauge wire between the two boxes.
Connect one of the ungrounded hot conductors from the light fan to the switch. Tighten the screws firmly. So what you should see if you have correct 3 wire electrical cable romex is a black power white neutral and now a 3rd red wire.
